Ardoyne, our second collaboration with Dash Construct, is a pair of contemporary coastal homes designed for a tightly held site in Black Rock. Conceived as two individual residences rather than a conventional side-by-side development, the project uses sculpted forms, deep reveals, screening and layered landscaping to create privacy and a strong sense of identity for each home.
A restrained palette of light masonry, warm timber, natural stone and fine metalwork carries from the exterior through to the interiors, while generous glazing and landscaped courtyards bring light and greenery deep into the plan. The architecture is deliberately calm and robust, balancing the refinement expected of a bayside home with materials and landscaping intended to age gracefully over time.
